A corrosion resistant 6Mo alloy similar to AL6XN and SMO254

Alloy 926 screws are the perfect substitute for 316L when higher corrosion resistance is required without additional strength. Alloy 926 fasteners are considered a 6-Moly alloy (6 Mo or 6% Molybdenum) like sister alloys AL6XN and SMO 254. Within the class of stainless steels, these 6 Mo alloys are considered to be very corrosion resistant. Bolts made from Alloy 926 are a super-austenitic molybdenum stainless steel offering corrosion resistance comparable to Super Duplex 2507 but with slightly lower strength and cost. Almost identical in chemistry to 6 Moly alloys AL6XN and SMO 254, Alloy 926 is often chosen for paper plants, desalination and weak acid environements.

In addition, Alloy 926 fasteners are also similar in composition to 904L, but with increased nitrogen and molybdenum providing Alloy 926 bolts improved general corrosion resistance as well as resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Because of Alloy 926 resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, it makes 926 fasteners ideal for use in desalination, and pulp and paper plants. This alloy is also good option for diluted sulfuric and phosphorus acid applications.

Alloy 926 Chemistry & Specifications

Alloy 926 Chemistry

Alloy 926 Chemistry

Alloy 926 Screws

12 Point    12 Point Screws Alloy 926 12 point screws are typically used for applications when higher torque than socket head cap screws is required. We offer 12 points in 1/4" diameter or larger. The only drawback is Alloy 926 12 point screws are less economical and require a high minimum quantity due to the complexity of production. •  IFI-115
•  MIL SPEC
•  DIN 34822
•  DIN 34821
Button Head    Button Head Cap Screws When a wide clamping area and low profile fastener is needed, Alloy 926 button head cap screws are an ideal choice. Button head screws are also used for fastening a material that is too thin to counter bore. • ASME B18.3
• ASME 18.3.4M
• DIN 7380 / ISO 7380
Flat Head 3D    Flat Head Screws Alloy 926 flat head screws have a standard 82° countersink angle, typically with a slotted or socket driver. Flat heads are also available with angles ranging from 60° -120° upon request. Phillips, torx and tamperproof drivers are also available depending on size, quantity and material. •  ASME B18.3
•  ASME B18.3.6
•  DIN 963 / ISO 2009
•  DIN 965 / ISO 7046
•  DIN 7991 / ISO 10642
Hex Cap Screw    Hex Head Cap Screws Perhaps the most common fastener are Alloy 926 hex head cap screws. These feature an added washer face providing tighter dimensional tolerances over a hex bolt which lacks this element. Alloy 926 hex head cap screws provide high clamping force and easy access. • ASME B18.6.3
• DIN 931 / ISO 4014
• DIN 933 / ISO 4017
• DIN 961 / ISO 8676
pan head screw s    Pan Head Screws Alloy 926 pan head screws have a rounded head and are best for small diameter and low torque application. They typically feature a slotted driver. • ASME B18.6.3
• DIN 7985
• DIN 921
• DIN 85 / ISO 1580
• DIN 84 / ISO 1207
  (cheese head)
• DIN 966 / ISO 7047
  (raised counter sunk)
SecScrew Drives   Security Screws When unwanted removal or tampering is critcal, Alloy 926 security screws provide protection because they cannot be unfastened using an common driver. Tamper-proof screws are produced in a wide variety of head styles, as well as custom per print.
Set Screw    Set Screws Alloy 926 set screws are a headless fastener that have a slotted or socket driver and a unique point end. Set screws are available with cup, cone, flat, dog and half-dog points. • ASME B18.3
