Hastelloy & MR0175

Q: I work on oil rig repair and we are required to have Hastelloy bolts that meet the NACE MR0175 standard. What is this exactly, and do you offer these?
A: To answer the easy question, yes we offer Hastelloy screws per NACE MR0175. Now for the my involved question.  NACE MR0175 is a standard established specifically for materials used in the exploration and production of petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas. Essentially it is a set of principles and recommendations for the selection of corrosion resistant metals (including steels, irons and corrosion resistant alloys) that prevent H2S stress corrosion cracking in sour gas. Material that is NACE MR0175 specified will have certain specifications to minimize stress  corrosion cracking.
