Choosing a Specialty Material Hose Clamp

Features a slotted band which is tightened by a screw that threads through the slats like a gear when tightened. Available in Titanium Grade 2 only.

Benefits
Economical and reusable
Easy to install with standard screwdriver
Can be installed without disconnecting hose
Disadvantages
Slats can bend with increased tension
Slats can deform with reuse
Flat spot below screw can cause uneven tension

small-medium-dutyMedium Duty
Unlike worm drives which rely on a gear mechanism, medium duty hose clamps feature a nut-and-bolt that directly secure the ends together. Available in both Titanium and Hastelloy.

Benefits
Forms perfect circle for uniform for 360º clamping/pressure distribution
Smooth, solid band eliminates damage
Strength based on bolt torque, rather than slot strength
Ideal for high clamping force applications
Can be installed without disconnecting hose
Disadvantages
Made for specific diameter
Screw and nut must be removed to install

titanium-v-hastelloyTitanium vs. Hastelloy Hose Clamps?
Titanium Grade 2 hose clamps are fully resistant to chlorides, hypochlorites, chlorates, perchlorates and chlorine dioxide. They are ideal for sea water corrosion such as marine vessels and offshore oil, bleaching and chloride environments and salt water applications such as desalination. Hastelloy C276 hose clamps are used in the harshest chemical environments where there is exposure to highly corrosive media like sulfuric and hydrochloric acid.
